The Classic SIM: a fair but expensive Three plan

Three's network is mid-merger: since Vodafone and Three combined in June 2025, coverage and speeds on Three hosts have been improving measurably, which strengthens Honest's hand in rural areas. You get unlimited UK calls and texts on every tier, unrestricted hotspot use, Wi-Fi calling, and a choice of eSIM or physical SIM.

The signature feature is the loyalty discount. Instead of the industry's usual mid-contract price rises, Honest cuts your bill slightly every month you stay, compounding to a maximum of 30% off. The unlimited plan therefore drifts from £25.00 down towards £17.50 over time, and the 4GB plan from £12.15 towards £9.45. It is a refreshing inversion of telecoms pricing psychology, and it rewards exactly the long-tenure customer this product is designed for.

The catch is the starting price. £12.15 for 4GB is a lot in a market where budget MVNOs on the same Three network sell far larger allowances for less, and there are only three tiers to choose from. You are paying a premium for the B Corp positioning, the app experience and the discount mechanic, not for cheap gigabytes. Roaming on the Classic SIM

Every Classic plan includes 5 free EU roaming days per trip, with roaming data capped at 20GB; after the fifth day you pay £2 per day, and fair use limits roaming to around 60 days per year. That structure suits short hops to Europe well and month-long stays poorly. The Smart SIM: the backup eSIM idea, properly executed

The Smart SIM is why Honest Mobile appears on a travel eSIM site at all. Launched in March 2025 and eSIM-only, it is a data-only second line that sits alongside your main SIM in any dual-SIM phone. In the UK it can connect to EE, O2, Three or Vodafone, switching to whichever has the strongest signal; abroad it roams in more than 180 countries, including the US, Canada, Japan, Australia and Brazil, at no extra charge. Independent testing supports the concept.
